Hi I am Neleisha (a.k.a Nelly)...
I am mostly a self trained artist, still exploring and experimenting with my
creative talents, therefore still very much a work in progress. Mostly I don’t know where the passion for
painting ends and I begin; it is the only way I can focus my attention completely on one thing, my prism
of the world.
What started out as a hobby has now become a serious obsession? This portfolio contains a mix of my
early and current work. I started out with water colours, and have now transitioned to acrylic, Collage
and a combination of both.
I like to focus on line art & natural, abstract landscapes . Nature is my strongest inspiration and the
simple philosophy that guides my art is “less is more”. Simplicity dominates, paradoxically, even in my
abstract art. Beauty supersedes deep meaning in my art. I believe that most people look for beauty
when choosing a painting for their wall. I love experimenting with colours so most of my pieces tend
to contain unusual combinations of colours, which are striking and unique. I also dabble in portraits,
recycled art and fabric painting. I enjoy doing customised art, so that the end product is a combination
of you, who commissions the piece and my skills. I believe such a piece would be more a part of you,
than my feelings that I impose upon you.
